Jayne Jaudon Ferrer learned to read at four, published her first story at nine, and interviewed music superstar Kenny Rogers for the Tampa Tribune at eighteen. Born and raised in central Florida cattle country, she briefly considered a career as a cowgirl, but ultimately decided she preferred words to western wear.

Author of a nonfiction book and five collections of poetry—one of which was named a Top Ten Catholic Hardcover, another of which was named a Best Book for Parents—Jayne’s latest book is a novel. Building on her Southern roots and some close ties to Nashville, Hayley and the Hot
Flashes
is the story of a country music diva who, after her back-up singers are sidelined by a car crash, invites the four friends she sang with in high school to join her on the road. As they deal with husbands, hormones, stage fright, stalkers, egos, illness, and more, Hayley and the Hot Flashes will make you laugh out loud, reflect on the precious gift of friends, and remind you it’s never too late to go after your dreams.

When she’s not writing, Jayne stays busy as the host and editor of www.YourDailyPoem.com, a website dedicated to sharing the pleasure and diversity of poetry, now in its fifteenth year. A lifelong Southerner, Jayne lives with her husband in Greenville, South Carolina, where she enjoys gardening, good conversation, and movies from the ‘30s and ‘40s.
